Royal Voluntary Service

Royal Voluntary Service is a registered charity (no. 1015988) established in 1938 to provide practical help through the power of volunteering. Today we support around 100,000 older people throughout Great Britain thanks to the commitment of over 27,000 volunteers. Our services are essential - they provide a lifeline for many of the most vulnerable older people in our communities, and our volunteers help older people live independently for longer, with the dignity and respect they deserve. We are focused on the biggest social challenge of our time - our ageing population. It is a sad fact that many older people living in Britain today feel lonely, isolated and disconnected from their communities. We provide practical solutions to help older people live better lives, where they feel safer, happier, healthier and more valued. Our volunteer led services include Good Neighbours, community transport, Tech Angels and lunch and social clubs. All of these services enable older people to regain their confidence and keep healthy, reducing their often severe isolation and loneliness, and helping them to be more involved in their community.
