Furniture Reuse

Groundwork Caerphilly enterprises trading as The Furniture Revival is a social enterprise owned by the charitable trust, Groundwork Caerphilly. The enterprise is based in the Upper Rhymney Valley and serves the communities of the South Wales Valleys, providing accessible, affordable furniture to households across the region, working in some of the most deprived communities in Wales. We provide a service to collect, clean, repurpose and reuse furniture, electrical and other household goods which are made fit for purpose for resale at low cost to families in need.

We also procure brand new goods to meet the needs of our clients. We provide procured goods, including washing machines, tumble dryers, cookers, freezers and fridges as well as beds and mattresses, at lower than the standard retail market prices, making them an affordable option.

We help local organisations procure more ethically. We work in partnerships with housing associations, local authorities, social services, community groups, and other third sector organisations, helping them access affordable furniture for the clients in contact with them, who are often living in poverty and in dire need. Our premises also offer workshop, equipment and meeting spaces at low cost to local groups/organisations.

We are passionate about diverting waste sent to landfill, recognising that many household furniture and electrical items can be repurposed and reused, that otherwise would have been disposed of. We work closely with Caerphilly County Borough Council to provide a bulky waste collection service and storage. We also support The European Recycling Platform, collecting and promoting reuse and sustainability support initiatives.

Founded in 1999 we are one of Wales’ largest furniture and electrical reuse centres – with a 15,000 square foot premise. The vision of The Furniture Revival is to continue to be an economically sustainable social enterprise focusing on reuse and recycling initiatives within South Wales.
