Groundwork North Wales undertakes a wide range of work, combining environmental, social and economic action to create better places, better communities and better lives for people. We have a track record of engaging and retaining 'hard to reach' people in programmes which improve their well-being and emotional fitness, in turn improving their future prospects by motivating and reconnecting them with education, training, and ultimately employment. Our 'Go Green 4 Health' programme is notable. Our training team can offer a range of accredited courses, including Adult and Paediatric First Aid, Manual Handing, Health and Safety, and Food Hygiene. We offer a range of programmes for schools, including our very popular 'Celts'. We offer energy and waste reduction advice for both domestic and small business/voluntary organisations, including 'Green Doctor' for householders and 'Green Dragon' Environmental Management assessments for businesses and community buildings. Our Sustainable Play team works with young people in communities across North Wales. In school holidays we run our award-winning 'Holiday Club' at our Plas Power base. We have 'Investing in Volunteers' and 'Investors in People' accreditation. Full details of our services are available on our website. Mentro Allan/Venturing out is a 4 year funded project which provides opportunities for people with learning/and or physical disabilities and their carers to engage in outdoor activities in the natural environment. Alyn Water Country Park, Mold Road, Wrexham, LL11 4AG; Tel: 01978 363555; Walking your way back to health and Pedal Power for disabled people, 9.30 - 4.45 Mon-Fri.
