REV Cymru publicises small car clubs in Wales with a big difference - they all use pure electric vehicles. Our car clubs are aimed at mobilising rural communities and actively encouraging people to let go of unnecessary vehicles in their household. The clubs use renewable energy when they can, meaning we can also make our fuel for free out of the wild Welsh weather. There are no tail-pipe emissions. We started as a small group in Cilgwyn, near Newport with a passion to travel more sustainably.
Now we are four - there are groups in Cilgwn / Newport, Goodwick and Trecwn, with an independent group in St.Davids. The model is spreading to other parts of Wales: Gadestry, at the opposite end of the country, is getting its first Nissan Leaf this August 2014. There are people in Haverfordwest keen to set up a club, if this could be for you, get in touch. It only take 5 families willing to pay £40 to £50 per month to make a club viable.
