Volunteering

Our service provision would not be possible without the hard work of our valued
volunteers, who play a pivotal role in the delivery of our service to asylum seekers and
refugees in Wales. They help develop the organisation and have a great impact on our service delivery. Our volunteers work across the organisation and support us in tasks ranging from office support to policy work, communications, administration and casework. They make up approximately 60% of our human resource complement.

At the Welsh Refugee Council, we celebrate the invaluable contribution volunteers provide to our work.

In return for your valued contribution as a volunteer we can provide you with:
• A full induction and ongoing support to prepare you for your new role
• Demonstrable experience operating in a very challenging sector
• An ongoing role in the future development of the organisation
• Active involvement in partnership work within the asylum/refugee and wider voluntary sector
• Assistance with travel costs
• Relevant support to access training and development
• The knowledge that you are making a positive difference in people’s lives
• A working atmosphere which promotes a sense of fun and community
