Milford Youth Matters is a local charity based in Milford Haven aimed at supporting young people aged 11-25. Serving a youth population of over 2500 in a community which has three distinct wards of multiple deprivation. The project looks to offer a comprehensive package to young people within the community aiding them with physical, emotional, educative training and employability support. In addition to these responsibilities, we also look to empower those accessing our services, to take a proactive role in their own community, facilitating a number of projects aimed at community development. Young people understand other demographics in their community face similar challenges to them, as a result Milford Youth Matters host a range of intergenerational schemes to both demonstrate commonality and facilitate joint approaches to addressing the associated needs. Finally, young people respond well to experiential learning; our aim is to ensure the process is fun and engaging.
