Gilfach Goch Community Association

Gilfach Goch is a former coal mining village located in Taff Ely, RCT and bordering Bridgend County Borough Council. To the west is Ogmore Valley and to the east in Rhondda Valley. The Community Association is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity which is managed by a board of trustees / directors. The principal activity of the company is 'to promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of the community in Gilfach Goch and in particular the advancement of education, the promotion of good health and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness'.
We currently have several programmes running within the centre:
After School clubs, Youth clubs and holiday playscheme’s
Messy Monsters Creche and Play nursery setting
Parent & Toddler group
Social Enterprises including a community café and hair salon
Activities such as Arts & Crafts, Pottery, Knit & Natter, Men's Shed, Cookery, Chair Yoga & Zumba Gold classes
Free Food pantry available as well as food and fuel bank voucher referrals
Rooms for hire including conference suite, Sports Hall and an IT Suite

We have been a presence within the community for 26 years however our work extends to surrounding areas and other local authorities. We have clients/participants coming from local and neighboring local authorities.
