Halo Leisure

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 22 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities. This allows us to keep our costs low and offer outstanding value for money across Herefordshire. Basically, when our customers spend money with us, we largely reinvest this into Halo services. So users are helping to sustain leisure activities for everyone across the county to enjoy – from pre and post natal exercise classes, babies in the ‘Swim-A-Song’ sessions, specialist exercise classes for people with MS, to toddlers at Gym Tots and to 55+ group exercise classes. We also share our expertise with developing operators such as the Point4 at The Royal National College for the Blind in Hereford .
